Kick Out Cancer

The Richmond Kickers Indoor of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) is pleased to team up with Connor’s Heroes to host Kick Out Cancer, a charity event showcasing local youth coaches on Saturday, December 20th. The event will be held 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at SCOR, Sports Center of Richmond, and will also include games for kids, a silent auction, raffle prizes and exhibition matches highlighting teams from the Central Virginia Soccer Association (CVSA). Space is limited. Tickets are on sale now via RichmondKickers.com for just $5.00 and all proceeds will be donated to Connor’s Heroes Foundation. Download the flyer for more information.

Connor’s Heroes Donates $60,510.40 to Pediatric Cancer Research at VCU

On Tuesday, December 16, Connor's Heroes Foundation presented a check for $60,510.40 to the VCU Massey Cancer Center. The money will be split between the Jamie Hess Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Research Fund and the Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment Fund that Connor's Heroes established last year at VCU Health System. This Endowment Fund is jointly managed by the VCU Massey Cancer Center and the Department of Pediatrics. The donation to the Jamie Hess Fund came directly from proceeds raised during the Anthem Quest for the Cure and Night with the Richmond Kickers, as well as, the Ashland Barracudas Swim Marathon.

Anthem Quest for the Cure

Register your team (Corporate, Adult, or Family) to go on a Quest for the Cure through Carytown on June 21, 2008. This Treasure Hunt/Adventure Race designed by Ravenchase will take teams through various locations in Carytown and end up at the Richmond Kickers Game. Check-in for the Quest begins at 2:00 and the Quest will start at 3:00.

On Track for the Cure with The Waybacks

The Waybacks, with special guest Danny Barnes, will be performing Friday, June 13 at 7:00 pm at the Tracks at the Science Museum. A portion of the proceeds of this event will be directed to the Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment Fund that Connor's Heroes established in the Department of Pediatrics at the VCU School of Medicine and VCU Massey Cancer Center.

Heroes Bags & Backpacks Assembly, January 26

On Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Mary Munford Elementary School, volunteers will gather to assemble the Heroes Bags and Backpacks that Connor's Heroes provides to every child (infant-20) diagnosed with cancer at the Children's Medical Center at VCU Health System and his/her family.
